Rutger published: LA Fires Impact Celebrities: Drag Race Stars, Rebel Wilson, Paris Hilton and More Evacuate

As wildfires rage across Los Angeles County, several celebrities, including notable members of the LGBTQ+ community, have been significantly impacted by the destruction. The fires, which are considered the most destructive in LA history, have forced thousands to evacuate their homes, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake.

Evacuations and Destruction in Hollywood Hills

The Hollywood Hills are currently under an evacuation order as the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) battles to contain the rapidly spreading blazes. The situation has become so dire that officials have described it as an "immediate threat to life," with apocalyptic scenes unfolding across the region. At least five people have tragically lost their lives, and 130,000 residents have been displaced as a result of the fires.

According to reports, approximately 17,000 acres of land have been scorched, making it a catastrophic event for the area. The fires began in the Palisades, situated between Malibu and Santa Monica, and quickly spread to other regions, including Altadena, San Fernando, and Acton.

Paris Hilton's Heartbreak

Among the celebrities affected is musician and media personality Paris Hilton, who shared her heartbreak on social media after witnessing her Malibu home burn down. "Heartbroken beyond words," Paris wrote in an emotional Instagram post, describing the home as a place where she and her family created cherished memories. Despite the devastation, she expressed gratitude that her family and pets were safe, and extended her thoughts and prayers to others affected by the fires.

"While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family and pets are safe," she continued, urging the public to stay safe and offer support to those in need.

Drag Race Stars and LGBTQ+ Icons Impacted

RuPaul’s Drag Race star Farrah Moan is another celebrity who had to evacuate due to the fires. In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, she expressed relief that she was safe, but sorrow over the ongoing destruction. "Heart is breaking," she wrote, alongside a picture of her pet dog Mika, who was also evacuated.

Non-binary musician G Flip and their partner, Chrishell Stause of Selling Sunset fame, were forced to evacuate their Hollywood Hills home as the fires closed in. "Myself, Chrishell & Gracie had to evacuate our house in a hurry but we are safe at my studio," G Flip reassured followers via Instagram, emphasizing the need for vigilance during such a crisis.

Meanwhile, Canada’s Drag Race finalist Scarlett Bobo shared a striking image of the night sky, ablaze with an ominous orange glow. "We’ve all been evacuated and we are safe and sound," she assured her fans, underscoring the urgency of checking in on friends and loved ones during such a terrifying event.

Other Celebrities Affected

Actress and author Rebel Wilson noted through social media that her friend Ornela had to rescue her pet cat from her West Hollywood residence, while other big names in Hollywood have also been hit hard by the fires.

Reports indicate that Top Gun: Maverick actor Miles Teller and When Harry Met Sally star Billy Crystal lost their homes. Moreover, Star Wars legend Mark Hamill and Schitt's Creek star Eugene Levy were among those forced to evacuate to safety.

As Los Angeles faces one of its most challenging periods, the resilience and solidarity among those affected, as well as the broader community, remain a beacon of hope. The collective efforts of firefighters and first responders, working tirelessly to combat the blazes, have been met with widespread gratitude and support.

In these trying times, it's crucial to extend support and check on those in your community who may be vulnerable or in need of assistance. The devastation may be vast, but the spirit of togetherness and perseverance remains strong.
